For those unfamiliar, let's start today's post with a definition...
Ombre: Color that transitions from dark to light.
In the case of home decor, accessories, and apparel, I'm totally on board. But hair? Call me an old fogey, but "in my day" we'd call those ROOTS that are begging to be dyed! Observe:
Sorry Jessica Alba, normally I think you can do no wrong!
The best part of the Ombre trend, in my humble opinion, is how it looks in camera! It adds great visual interest and a diverse range of color, WITHOUT providing a distraction from your subject. In fact, ombre does a fantastic job of drawing the eye along the color gradient, right up to the subject's beautiful smile (or, in Kaelyn's case, scowl).
I love the use of ombre on a full length piece like this romper, or the maxi in the collage above. It needs very little in the form of accessories - simple pops of color like K's hair piece and sunglasses are all this look needs! (Stuffed "Bubby" doesn't hurt either, especially when he's dancing on my camera to get pictures like the one on the left!)
What do you think? Is this a trend you can get behind? Can't wait to see how you all incorporate this into your photo attire!
Until next week, XOXO
