{Fashion Friday} Hi-Lo Skirt

I must admit, there was a time when I called this trend the "mullet skirt." After all - who puts a train on a mini skirt?? And then WEARS it?

Guilty.

Guilty.

Thankfully, this trend stuck around long enough for my stubborn self to get on board, and now I LOVE it. In stores, the hi-lo trend is everywhere:

We have our tween model, Hailey, to thank for this feature. She requested to dress like her fashion idol, Victoria Justice. For those - like me - who said "who?" - she's the next Disney darling shown above. Victoria rocks the asymmetrical skirt/hi-lo silhouette all over the red carpet. (Side note: anybody else spot last week's trend in the dresses above??)

This is Tikatuly's Ahona skirt - and for the record, our model was so excited about this look she wore it to school the next day. That's what I call a Fashion Friday success!

I love how this skirt picks up the wind!

But here's the best part about this skirt: What was "asymmetrical" above, becomes "hi-lo" with a quarter turn! Two trends in one piece? Yes please!

Yowza! You strike that pose, Hailey girl!

And I just HAVE to slip this one in here... Merri Poppins, you have the most beautiful girls! And so well dressed, too ;)

So there you have it! A trend for your fashion forward tweens! Which hemline do you like better? Asymmetrical, or Hi-Lo?
