{style} Lucky Girl Blog Tour

Welcome welcome! I'm so excited to be participating today in the Lucky Girl Blog Tour, Introducing you all to Lucy Blaire's newest pattern! Here, my friends, is Lucky Girl:

Isn't she adorable?? I fell in love with her immediately. Something about the practicality of the sleeves and hood paired with the ultimate twirl-factor of a circle skirt... it just SCREAMS "preschool chic"! And with a dress that sews up this fast, you can afford to make a play-wear wardrobe full of these cuties! Here's my Riley Blake Cottage Garden version:

I have a not-so-secret love affair with raglan sleeves (They're just so much faster than set-in sleeves!) and circle skirts (hello? NO GATHERS!). The whole thing came together in probably 2 hours or less.

Now, I've sewn my share of raglans, but I must admit this is the first pattern that ever asked me to topstitch all the seams. I absolutely love it. I've made 3 raglans since and topstitched those too because of the extra polished appearance it gives. (Not to mention the reinforcement - this is more likely to hold up to 3-year-old antics!)

The hood is fully lined. A great place to use a fun pop of accent fabric!

My daughter was between sizes, so I decided to size down for a slimmer fit. I love the fit! The skirt is a great modest length, so you don't have to worry when your daughter starts to do this..

The pattern has sizes 12m-6T, so you can bet I'll be filling her closet with these for the next three years! Full measurement and yardage suggestion are provided (expect to use anywhere from 1.5 - 2.5 yards of medium weight knit!), as well as knit tips and 5 pages of well illustrated instructions. The assembly is very straightforward, making this a great beginner sew. There are 11 pages of printed pattern pieces, which fit together beautifully. I put mine together against my glass door so I saved the extra time trimming each page! (If you haven't tried it yet, do so now. It'll change your life!)

Now go enjoy sewing up your new devastatingly adorable day dress! You can buy the pattern here, or enter to win a copy by signing up for Lucy Blaire's newsletter! You have until midnight eastern time on the 26th to enter. In addition to the pattern, the winner will receive 2 yards of Aztec Black knit and 1 yard of Aqua Solid knit from Riley Blake!

Then check out the rest of the blog tour!
